Tips for keeping your hot tub operating more effeciently
In order to keep your hot tub in great shape for many years to come, it is important to take care of the hot tub filters. If the hot tub filters are cleaned thoroughly and changed they will be able to filter out all kinds of things that end up in the tub, from leaves and insects to hair and bacteria.
If the hot tub filter is working correctly, the water in the hot tub will always look sparkling clean. It will make the hot tub much more inviting after a hard days work or so you can wind down after a trying day with the children.
To clean hot tub filters you should remove them according to the manufacturers instructions then wash them with a garden hose that is being held at an angle of 45%. It is also important to replace the filter but how often will depend on the usage of the hot tub.
When you notice bits of debris or small unwanted particles that are beginning to build up in your hot tub, it is time to do some cleaning. Make sure that anyone using the hot tub has not come from a days dirty digging because the dirt, sweat and skin debris is not good for the tub. The filter will have to work much harder which will put unnecessary strain on the pump.
Always use the correct chemicals as advised by the manufacturer in the hot tub. This will ensure that the tub is always working properly.
If you are a family that regularly uses the hot tub, always make sure that the sanitizer levels are correct and top up when necessary. The pH level should be around 7.4 to 7.6, make sure that you check this also.
A shock treatment may be needed every couple of weeks or so whilst the tub is in regular use. As already mentioned, if you are not looking after the hot tub filters by regular cleaning and changing, the water will soon begin to look cloudy and dirty. This could also cause other elements of the hot tub to malfunction.
So, remember to keep the hot tub filter system clean so that your tub will work more efficiently and you can continue to enjoy its many benefits.
